I recently had the exciting opportunity to photograph the newly renovated Bar Harbor Motel in Bar Harbor, ME, my very first hotel shoot. The owner was eager to showcase the extensive renovations, featuring a bright and crisp color scheme with green and orange accents, and was particularly proud of the new mural in the dining area. The motel's tagline, "Retro By Nature," perfectly encapsulates the blend of vintage charm and modern updates that make this place unique. The aqua green cabinets, bronze hardware, and brown leather seats create a perfect balance of elegance and warmth. This shoot also featured a fun element: staging the perfect cocktail at the wet bar with a wine fridge.

Right out of the gate, my first project with a new client, Mari Woods, took me to a unique room in a unique location. The owner of an equestrian stable in Rye, NH had asked Mari to design and build a high-end custom lounge, complete with a full bar, into their stable. And not stopping there, the lounge was to feature a huge viewing window for owners to watch their horses being trained. All together, this was a truly fascinating project that tested and expanded my skills as a photographer, and more than anything was an absolute thrill to shoot.

Looking to get closer to the local arts community, I started volunteering for WSCA here in Portsmouth. The job they gave me was to listen to all the new music people had submitted to the station for going on-air. While giving it a true effort, it quickly became apparent that I didn’t have much of an ear for new music. So instead, I offered to help out with my camera and discovered they needed updated photos of the building. I saw this as an excellent opportunity to capture the station’s eclectic, community-grown nature and visually express its unique personality.

This personal project captured the intricate craftsmanship and unique atmosphere of Tom's workspace, offering a glimpse into the delicate art of stained glass restoration.

My recent project with Sash & Solder led me to the stunning First Church of Christ, Scientist in Concord, New Hampshire. The stained glass windows were a focal point, casting beautiful, filtered light into the sanctuary.
